Office Manager

The Position:

The Office Manager partners directly with staff, students, and families of Nashville Classical and is responsible for ensuring smooth daily operation of the school office. This is a 12-month position. The hours of this position are 7:00am–4:20pm, Monday through Friday with some weekend and evening commitments.

Daily operations of the school office include but are not limited to:

  • Welcoming Visitors: Creating a warm, welcoming environment for all students, family, staff, and visitors and serving as the primary phone and reception contact for all visitors to Nashville Classical.

  • Managing the Office: Performing administrative duties including filing, faxing, copying, documenting office procedures, maintaining supplies/ordering, maintaining student records, and data entry.

  • Serving Scholars & Families: Partnering with families to internalize and successfully navigate school policies such as attendance, tardies, uniforms, etc. Providing direct support to scholars with health, attendance, or uniform needs.

  • Maintaining Records: Creating, managing, and maintaining the office databases, specifically student health and transportation.

  • Implementing Systems: Implementing effective office systems to ensure maximum efficiency.

  • Providing Support: Working directly with the Operations Coordinator and Leadership Team to provide administrative assistance and additional direct scholar support, as needed.

  • Customer Service: Operating with a sense of team and family, knowing that our scholars and families are our top priority and our staff is stronger when we work together to serve them.

 

As a team member on the Nashville Classical staff, the Office Manager can expect to:

  • Participate in staff professional development in July as well as ongoing staff meetings and development opportunities.

  • Partner across school teams. While the duties listed above are staples of this role, Nashville Classical staff members often go above and beyond strictly “job description” work. We are a growing school, and we share responsibilities day in, day out, that may not typically be encompassed by a general Office Manager’s responsibilities.

  • Work with a sense of fulfillment in an environment that proves what’s possible for kids.

 

Qualifications

We are seeking candidates with prior office management and record-keeping experience and the ability to use Microsoft Office & Google Office Tools. Candidates should also demonstrate excellent responsibility, organizational, and communication skills.  The candidate should be comfortable in a fast-paced environment.  The candidate should believe deeply in the mission and values of Nashville Classical. Experience in education and bilingual (Spanish/English) is preferred, but not required.

Salary for this position is competitive and commensurate with prior experience. A comprehensive benefits package is included.
