On August 6th, Nashville Classical began the 2018-2019 school year. We opened our doors to 394 scholars in Kindergarten to Fifth Grade, launching our Middle School and continuing to build a strong foundation for our elementary scholars. With the recent release of 2017-2018 school year TNReady results, we're thrilled to share where we've been and what we've accomplished. Some highlights are below:
- OVERALL ACHIEVEMENT: NCCS ranked 3rd in math and reading achievement out of all of Davidson County's open-enrollment elementary and middle schools.
- CLOSING HISTORIC GAPS: The NCCS "Super Subgroup" (Economically Disadvantaged, Minority, English Language Learner, and Special Education scholars) outscored the state average for non-economically disadvantaged students, reversing historical achievement gaps.
- ELIMINATING BELOW STANDARDS: In third grade math, 100 percent of scholars scored approaching, on track, or mastered! This means zero scholars received the lowest designation, "below standards." In Davidson County, 40 percent of elementary scholars scored "below standards" in Math and no other school in the city reported zero students in this category. This achievement reflects our school's commitment to educating our entire community.
